Format:

Round-up your teams and head to St. Joseph June 1-2 for this “western” themed tournament!  This event is open to the following divisions:

12U B

14U B

Pool play begins on Saturday, June 1 with a three-game guarantee moving on to single elimination bracket play on Sunday.  Be prepared to play on Friday evening should the schedule warrant.

Please note, we will combine B & C divisions if need be to make a full pool.

Gate Fee: $5 per person, per day, children 6 & under will be admitted free

Rules of Play:

“C” State rules are used for play with modification.  Teams will bat line up.  Age eligibility will be determined in accordance with current USA Softball regulations.  All teams will receive one new ball for tournament play.

Added Enhancements: 

Friday Players Clinic:  In conjunction with the tournament, players have the option to register for a youth skills clinic hosted by Missouri Western State University Softball student-athletes and coaches.  The clinic will be held at Heritage Park from 6 to 7:30 PM. Cost is $25 per player.  Sign-up information will be sent directly to registered teams.

St. Joseph Mustangs Ticket: In addition to tournament play, all players and coaches will receive a free ticket to attend the St. Joseph Mustangs baseball game at historic Phil Welch Stadium on Saturday, June 1 or any future home date if not able to attend that evening.  The Mustangs are St. Joseph’s summer wood bat college baseball team, are the eight time defending MINK League Champions and consistently rank in the top 10 of summer attendance nationally.

Dugout Contest: A “western themed” dugout/uniform contest will be held for teams wishing to participate.  The contest will be held on Saturday of the event in which a team prize will be awarded per age division.

About Heritage Park: 

Heritage Park is a five-field softball complex located adjacent to the Missouri River in St. Joseph and was named the 2009 National Amateur Softball Association Complex of the Year.  It has hosted ten national tournaments, several regional and state tournaments along with the NCAA Softball National Championship in 2011.

Awards: 

Awards in all division are based solely off bracket play results, not pool play.

Rainout Policy:

If 75% of games are played, there will be no refunds.  Any refunds will be issued based on the number of games a team played.  If no games are played, a $50 administration fee will be withheld from the refund.

No refunds will be allowed for teams who forfeit games or drop out once a division is full and schedule has been made.  Additionally, no refunds or drops will be permitted after May 24.
